Tsunami 2 v1.2 Firmware New Features

Soundtraxx has released an updated Tsunami 2 Digital Sound Decoder that has several new interesting features. They are:
  • An air dryer sound for newer locomotives in addition to the poppet valve sound already supplied. This works in conjunction with the air compressor so you need to use features that use a lot of compressed air such as brakes and couplers to activate this sound.
  • Separate sounds for a steam generator (appropriate for FP series passenger diesels for example) and an HEP diesel pup generator for F59PHI types and current FP36 locomotives
  • Several additional small sound features
  • For me the real killer addition! Now you can change the pitch of your prime mover so that several prime movers of the same type can sound slightly different when running in a consist or separately on the same layout. Controlled by CV 223, this is a big deal for me as I have several consists of engines with EMD 645 turbo prime movers. To make each of them sound a little different on startup and while running is a really nice addition.
There's a YouTube video available from Soundtraxx that demonstrates these effects. Take a look and comment to let other readers know what you think of these changes.

If you have an idea for a blog post here for the club, let me know. If I can comment on it, I will or I'll see if someone else can and post it.
